Melanie Bradshaw was the wife of Commander Trafford Bradshaw. She was a fictional gorilla, and although she was mentioned in several of the Commander Bradshaw books, it never said that she was a gorilla. She was friends with Thursday Next and babysat for her children, Friday and Tuesday Next many times. Thursday believed that her mindworm daughter, Jenny Next was named after Melanie, Jenny being her middle name.
